Collection and recycling of batteries in order to protect the environment.
When buying a new battery, you can leave your old battery for recycling in the Planet 1 EOOD store, according to the REGULATION on the requirements for putting batteries and batteries on the market and for the treatment and transportation of battery and battery waste. In recycling landfills, before the recycling process begins, used batteries are disassembled and their components are separated from each other.
Lead
Lead-containing ingredients and lead oxide are used in the manufacture of new batteries. New lead grids are also produced from the recycled lead.
Plastic
Plastic battery cases and caps are collected and shredded. The plastic granulate obtained in this way is used for the production of new housings and caps.
Electrolyte
The used electrolyte is processed into sodium sulfate. It is used as a solid in the manufacture of textiles, glass, detergents and fertilizers. Due to global warming and the deepening scarcity of fossil fuels, environmental regulations are being passed with corresponding consequences. To reduce CO2 emissions in new cars, manufacturers are betting on micro-hybrid drives. Crucial to this is battery manufacturing technology!
Two different starter battery systems are mainly used in these eco-friendly vehicles: AGM* (Absorbent Glass Mat) and EFB* (Enhanced Flooded Battery).
* AGM = absorbent glass mat, the acid is absorbed by the glass fabric and thus retained
* EFB = enhanced flooded battery, cycle-resistant starter battery
